<p data-start="1534" data-end="1585">Truth? That’s not leadership.<br data-start="1563" data-end="1566" />That’s performance.</p>
<p data-start="1587" data-end="1700">Real leaders create <strong data-start="1607" data-end="1651">environments where others perform better</strong> — because of their presence, not in spite of it.</p>
<p data-start="1702" data-end="1752">What they won’t tell you in most leadership books:</p>
<ul data-start="1753" data-end="1876">
<li data-start="1753" data-end="1787">

<p data-start="1990" data-end="2011">A great leader knows:</p>
<ul data-start="2012" data-end="2096">
<li data-start="2012" data-end="2033">
<p data-start="2014" data-end="2033">When to step back</p>

<p data-start="2791" data-end="2890">Before you can lead a team, a company, or a community, you need to lead yourself.<br data-start="2872" data-end="2875" />And that means:</p>
